Greetings Michael, For what it's worth, my '64 TR4 (since '67) has always used GL-4 , most commonly SAE 85W-90, for GBX/OD & Diff lubrication. The only new parts installed have been syncros in the GBX. The car has almost 100,000 miles on the clock - GBX/OD & Diff are quiet and work well. Just last week I bought a 1 gallon jug of Sta-Lube Hypoid Gear Oil GL-4 SAE 85W-90 at the local NAPA store - about US$ 12.00. No movable axle splines on my TR4. brgds, Jay '64 TR4 - about to be back on the road after a new head gasket install - a a lot of other little things. |
