Thought I'd throw this into the thread.

"DAWN" "Power Dissolver" Recommended by Consumers Guide. Designed for
"Baked-On, Burnt-On Grease. The chef in your family will love it for the pots,
pans, oven, burner drip pans, grills, et. al. (Engine parts?)

Caveats: I quote, "Important, Avoid Use On: appliance lettering, scratched
'non-stick' surfaces, oven hoods, dishwasher doors, varnished wood, and copper.

Painted surfaces, particularly metal, vary in quality. If in doubt, test on
a small hidden area." (I'm never quite sure where those are on some things,
like those vinyl tops...<g>...)

Ingredients: Contains biodegradable alkaline cleaning agents and solvents.
Contains no phosphate. It also says not to spray into your eyes or drink it.
I'm glad they told me that, cause I was tempted!

I can hardly wait to try it on chrome wire wheels. I'll let you know!

Cheers!

Clark
