Hi!

Sounds like you gear oil may be a bit heavy?????........most of the old OD's
were made for 30 or 40 Wt. motor oil (no multi-viscosity).........Red Line SAE
70W80 seems to be about SAE 30 wt. motor oil.......I just checked some 90 Wt.
Hyploid oil which seemed to be quite thick and sticky.......I would suggest
check your 90 wt. with some 30 or 40 wt. Motor oil, and see if it seems the
same..........and more
importantly..........read.........www.team.net/www/healey/tech/big_hly/od/delborder_od.html.........although
 this about an A-Type
overdrive.....the symptoms are the same. My thought, a weak 'non return valve'
spring.........your's must have one........my suspicion..........in the
rebuild.......they put in the old weak spring........you will know with you new
pressure
guage..........<g>..........try <A
HREF="www.geocities.com/jholekamp/index.html...........$49.50=$4.50">
www.geocities.com/jholekamp/index.html...........$49.50+$4.50</A>
shipping.......I have one.......very nice setup........by the
time you chase around.....you will have spent more, I promise......

As Randall says, "I'm no D-Type OD expert!".........but possibly this may
help........
