A while back one of the CITOA memebers (I think Bob Wise) wrote an article
about frame colors in TRs.
I don't remember whether there was a system or if it was a matter of what
color was "in the gun". but indeed TR frames were painted different colors.
Be glad yours "got" paint...
My TR4 had bare metal close to the crossmember box. You could see where the
painter had hit the right crossmember and the left. The spray trailed off
about 2" before the box. Of course that's where all the oil and grunge
landed so there was no rust.
OBTW, the paint was black... if you're keeping track.
