Hi all,

Don't ask me how I got roped into this . . . just a nice guy I guess. For
reasons I won't document here, I removed my daughter's boyfriend's car's gas
tank for some repairs. It's a '99 Mercury Mystique (same as a Ford Contour
I'm told). Having a devil of a time getting the tank to re-seat / re-seal on
the gas inlet pipe. What I'm hoping is that one of you mechanical genius
types could give me a tip. Symptom is that it leaks at the fitting of the
tank to the pipe inlet. I believe there is just an internal flange in the
tank that snaps into a mating in the inlet pipe.

Help!!!?! Probably best to respond outside the list to me.

Thanks in advance.
