Thanks for the info about the spin-on adaptor.  I do have a slight dent in 
my canister mount, thus it is out-of-round.  I'm going to pull the mounting 
head off of the block and take it to be machined as round as we can get it.

Definitely not the dynamo bracket - I put that on myself!  Must be 
perfect:-)
