All this discussion about ashtrays made me dig into the far reaches of the
closet where I had hidden an ashtray that was optional on the early side
screen cars. It is still wrapped in tissue paper and in a genuine Stanpart
box with a yellowed label that says "1 hideaway ash tray black part no
701019". The ashtray swivels out from its mount versus the slide out in its
tracks version that was standard on the last 75% or so of the 3As.
It is destined to live in my TR2 but if the standard issue versions are over
$100 maybe I should leave it in the closet!
