I can't recall where I heard/read it, and can't verify if its true, but
apparently the Stag's 'T-Bar' was a development of a broomstick used during
testing of prototypes. The prototypes had such large scuttle shake that the
engineers testing them jammed a broom where the 'T-Bar' now is. That reduced
scuttle shake and the engineers decided to incorporate it into the
production models. Triumph of course billed it as a 'Saftey feature', but
saftey was only a ancillary reason for the roof.
