Saturday I took my son Elliott, 15 and newly with 'learner's permit'
license, down to an empty parking lot for the first drive with a clutch . .
. in a our TR4A. Of course we lurched and stalled a bit, but I was patient,
and *very* happy, reliving the day in the fall of 1963 I first drove a TR4
at age 16. I remember thinking, "wow, what a car!" I still feel that way,
and I think he enjoyed himself as well. This from a kid who goes from month
to month, Dad, you've got to get an Eclipse, a Hummer, a Boxer, and on, and
on. Afterward, we cruised through the back roads in a long loop back
homeward, talking about our lives.
Life goes on.
