Hi all,
Thanks mostly to the advice on the list my rebuild is nearing
completion. Regarding the poor quality of parts issue, I found a
small firm, who rebuild gearboxes, axles etc and I bought the bits I
was unhappy with from them. Two questions remain and I hope the list
can help. 1. Nobody seems to be able to supply me with the brass
bearing and seals for my speedo drive. The ones that were sent to me
were aluminium and the hole for the gear was much smaller, also it
did not take an adaptor piece on the outside for the cable. Does
anyone know where I might find this bearing??. 2. The new bush for
the 3rd speed gear is a very tight fit inside the gear. It spins on
the shaft no problem, but does not revolve inside the gear, all other
bushes were loose enough to easily revolve inside the gear. How tight
a fit should these bushes be. In operation does the bush and gear
turn together or does the gear turn on the bush.
