Subject: TR6 ring gear gap?

Hi,

I just tore down the transmission/clutch/flywheel on my 74 TR6
and much to my surprise, I find a .180" - .200" gap between the
ring gear and the engine-side flange of the flywheel. Two things
here, I guess -- obviously it is pressed on crooked, but should
there be a gap?

Second, it has some chipped teeth, but on other vehicles I just
turned the ring gear front to back and used the "fresh side" that
was facing the clutch.

Any advice here?

regards,

doug
