Ken,
I am running a Mallory in Rosebud, my 1960 TR3A and drive it both on the 
street and in at least 1 autox. My engine has similar mods to yours and Weber 
carbs. My experience so far has been great and the fact that I can adjust the 
advance curve to suit my engine is the frosting on the cake.
Initial cost is steep but I think worth it.
