First thanks again to everyone who responded to my post about
Heritage bodyshells.
My 6 has now been written off by the insurance company, and I have
obtained the salvage from them. I have just ordered a Heritage
bodyshell and remanufactured chassis. I will be spending as much time
as possible at the garage helping out and trying to keep the costs
down, (no doubt learning a lot in the process). I would appreciate
any advice from listers who have experience of using the
remanufactured chassis/Heritage shell combination - to help me avoid
some nightmares, or at least warn me of what to expect!
Also: I am considering a colour change, I know most of the original
colours but some I haven't seen for ages (perhaps because so many
people respray in red after a rebuild). Just wondered if anyone had
seen a colour chart anywhere? I found one on VTR but even familiar
colours were way off on my monitor - ideally I'd like to find a book
with a swatch reproduced in it.
