Hello Listers:
Just about getting ready to try to start a TR2 that has been sitting since
1970. The engine was stored well and filled with oil; it is turning free
and everything seems fine. Just wondering about the oil. Almost certain
the PO used "regular" oil in the engine. If I fill the crankcase with new
detergent 20-50 any potential problems? Should I try to "clean" the engine
with a flushing oil - some "restorers" suggest filling the crankcase with
diesel fuel and cranking it throught the engine before refilling with new
oil.
Any suggestions or experiences?
