Yes, I have had a TR4A lower A-arm mount break, luckily at low speed.

The Competition Preparation Manual recommended adding a second bolt to
the lower A-arm mounts for TR4As.  TR250s and TR6s (which had
essentially
the same design for the front suspension) came with 2-bolt A-arm mounts. 
When I broke mine, I replaced it with one from a TR6.  All that was
required was to drill a second hole/slot  where it mounts to the frame.
