I would definitely recommend something, but the what is a little tougher
<g>  If you can find the original Hylomar (not Hylomar HPF), it's an
excellant choice.  A thin smear of black (or red) RTV (aka silicone
form-a-gasket) works well too, IF you follow the directions so you don't
wind up with 'strings' of it falling off inside the pan.

I've been trying 'Gasgacinch', which seems to work pretty good, but
haven't tried it on a pan gasket yet.
