Well, it seems to me that your problem is either 1. a too hot tranny, or 2. a
hot tranny tunnel. After the engine rebuild a couple weeks ago on my TR4, we
reinstalled the carpeting with heat shield/soundproofing material underneath,
and it's a big improvement AFA interior heat and sound. Clearly I "fixed"
problem #2, not #1. <g> Unless you believe your tranny is truly TOO hot, I
suspect a tranny cooler is overkill.

My turn signals don't self cancel either. My solution is to wear one of those
"old guy" hats with a feather in the band, and drive along slowly in the passing
lane with the turn signal on, mile after mile. <g>
