Well, I opened the OD sump on Sat on my 75 TR6 and pulled the pump
filter and pump itself. Didn't have the right wrench to remove the
solenoid and couldn't get the relief valve/dashpot out. I didn't find
anything bad with the pump, but the filter was plugged solid.
This would have been good news if it hadn't been for the fact that it
was plugged with enough metal flakes to mint a couple of quarters. The
magnet in the sump was also filled to capacity. I guess I'll have to
apply those quarters to the price of a rebuild. 8^{
Please offers of condolences only, no need to offer to take this
paperweight off my hands, I will eventually fix it.
Oh well, I guess I just found my first winter project. And since the
tranny will be out, I'll have a look at rebuilding that, and maybe a new
clutch, and it'll be easy to get the diff out then, so maybe rebuild
that to stop the leaking, and I suppose the half shafts might as well
come out while it's that much apart.........
