Which leads to the story about why the voice warning systems in fighter
aircraft have female voices.  After extensive experiments, the designers
found that male fighter pilots instinctively reacted more quickly and
automatically to a female voice.  The only puzzle is why they had to
conduct experiments: any male over 18 should know that intuitively.
