Today (Sunday) was the 9th annual Ventura All British Day, put on by the
Central Coast British Car Club (California.)

A fun time had by all. I understand that they had over 150 cars there, with
lots of interesting British iron to look over. The featured marque was
Jaguar, with 61 jags present, including an unbelievable immaculate ‘38 SS100
which had been under restoration for 23 years and just finished. (Looks
like an MG TC on steroids and dressed to kill! 18’ chrome wire wheels, big
flared fenders, chrome wire mesh grill and headlight protectors - wow.)
Best of show was a perfect ‘70 XKE with 100 points.

Triumph had an excellent representation with at least 21 entries - five
TR3s, two TR4s, the remainder TR250 and TR6, except for one ‘47 1800
roadster. That car is something - very large, body made mostly of wood and
aluminum, with a rumble seat. Part of the rumble seat cover folds up to
form a second windshield, while the remainder forms the back of the seating
area. Very unique and interesting. Evidently less than a thousand made,
and we have at least two in the area.

Best of the Triumphs was an extremely clean green ‘58 TR3A with the license
(appropriately enough) “TR3A”. I didn’t get a chance to write down the
owners name but if they happen to be on line, please identify your selves!
They were parked next to me - made my red ‘59 look not-so-good. <g>

Also on hand was 5 or 6 Mini-Coopers, a half dozen Big Healeys, various
Sprites and Midgets, a MGA Coupe, about a dozen MGBs, and a ‘35 MG P. Also
a collection of Bentleys, Morgans, Rovers and a Jensen.

Very interesting time and lots of fun.
