Couldn't quite tell from your message if your window was gradually working its
way open or if it was more of a sudden drop part way open.

If it's gradually working it's way open as you're driving around look to see
where the handle is positioned when the window is completely rolled up.

It is best if window handle is between the 12 o'clock and 5 o'clock (as you look
straight at it) when the window is completely rolled up. This will make the
weight of the handle work to keep the window closed.

If the handle is in between the 7 o'clock to 12 o'clock position the weight of
the handle will work to open the window as you drive. If the handle is in this
position flip flop it 180 degrees and see if it helps.

Don't know what to tell you if it's a sudden drop. Might be a broken gear tooth
on the window mechanism which might mean it's replacement part time.

I have what I believe is an unusual problem. The drivers side window on my
'75 TR6 won't stay up. I have pulled the inner panel and it seems to be in
pretty good shape inside. The window rolls up although it waws jammed when
I bought the car. In fact it must have been hard to operate for some time
as the handle had the knob broken off. This was done by the Dumb Previous
Owner, this dumb owner is the one who can't figure out how to fix it. I've
put it all back togerther as it looks like it should go. As I say, it works
but then falls down at least part way. By the way, the spring seems to be
in place and working, but I suspect that this must be what keeps the tension
on the mechanism and the window up?? Any advice accepted, this is just one
of the little things about this car that would drivbe me nuts if I had to
use it seriously.
