Hi Barry,
        From the description, it's a European, rather than American spec car.
In Europe, as far as I am aware, MkIV and 1500 Spitfires had twin carbs.
My own (UK spec) 1973 MkIV looks essentially the same as a 1500 under
the bonnet. My guess is that as the models originate in Germany (I
think), they are of German export spec cars. Most European cars were
also fitted with the UK style lighting arrangements,
