I rebuilt the Strombergs on my TR4A and used the new jet assembly that
came with the bebuild kits. I'm having a difficult time getting the fuel
mixture right (and I have new throttle shafts). I'm finding that I
need to turn the adjustment screws out only about 2 turns rather than the
three recommended in the manual. Is this to be expected?
I'm running larger valves, a stock cam, and 87mm cylinder liners. Will
this affect the performance of this conventional jet assembly? Should I
plan to get a needle that's more atune to my own engine?
