I don't think it would make any difference either way.  From what i know
derailleur cables are stronger and stiffer because they have to push and
pull, and brakes are narrower because they only pull (maybe they're not
narrower, just not as stiff?)

Anyway it's no big deal.  I stopped at a bike store yesterday, I can get
an 8 foot brake cable (tandem bike) for $5.  So all I have to do is invent
a control knob.

Anyone got any hints, suggestions, or wishes?  I thought I'd make a 2 or 3
step knob- ie, no choke, half choke, all choke, turn to release.
