Hey Dave

If your car is aus. assembled, chances are the codes have nothing to dpo
with the trim/paint!  In NZ, cars assembled here had the model month and
year stamped in place of the trim code, and often the paint code
position on the comm. plate was blank or held the CKD (completely
knocked down kit) number...I forget that point exactly...  I had heard
some murmur of aus. cars being sprayed with metallic paint later
on...does the car have very high seatbacks and tinted (sundym) glass? 
If not, it may be English:

Another way to tell if the car is english assembled:  check for small
brackets joining the inner front wing to the suspension turret, on the
rear side.
