I commented on the odd hiccup the other day. This morning I started off
to work (65 degrees today) and the car fels like its running with the
brake on under load, below 2000RPM . Acceleration through the gears is
Ok, seems to be a load situation. I can get the idle way dowen so I
don't think its a vacuum leak. When I painted the engine compt I had the
manifolds off, distributor out etc. When I reinstalled, I replaced the
plug wire with 8mm Accel, put in new plugs, checked the point gap.
The car also spits at the tailpipe some under load too. Pulling out the
choke does not help.

Sounds like a high voltage problem to me, any words of wisdom before I
start tearing into it tomorrow?
I plan to
1. Check the firing order is correct.
2. Check the timing
3. Pull the plugs and look for anything unusual
4. Hotwire the voil to bypass ign wiring
5. Replace the old plug wires if I still have them.
The car ran great till I had it apart!
