Chapter 1 - Mechanic leaves off clutch slave cylinder piston return spring
and probably fails to adjust piston length. Clutch disengages after
pressing pedal barely a half inch.

Chapter 2 - Adjust piston length to spec and install Moss spring. Spring
clearly over-strained. Clutch disengages with pedal an inch from floor.

Chapter 3 - TRF offers one spring for Lockheed and one for Girling. I
order the Girling.

Chapter 4 - Much later. Install new spring. Fits like a glove. Clutch
engages at middle of pedal throw.

Mail order and TRF can sometimes be a pain, but what keeps me coming
back to them is the quality of the parts. So far, they have mostly been
superior.

  John
