Remove the connecting pipes on the exhaust system, drop the shaft out the
front of the shast tunnel. I found no need to remove/move the back end
of trans on my '72. I did have to cut the pipes, since I had wleded them
to prevent rattles and bangs. No need IMHO to remove diff to do this;
replace nyloc nuts. Good luck.
