Another angle on this very interesting subject:  What is the smallest car 
around that will benefit from a big engine?

Assuming all other things (motor / gear ratio / tire size) being equal, a 
smaller car will accelerate better than a larger car.  This being the 
case, the only thing to determine is HOW small can you safely go without 
going "too far".  Obviously a Spitfire appears to be too small for a 427, 
but might be o.k. for a V-6.  ...what is the car that rides the edge of 
the point of diminishing returns when it comes to inserting a "better" 
(V6 / V8) engine into it?

...Shelby did it well with the Cobra ...I've seen a great little kit car 
that used a large motor cycle engine to make a one-seater that flew.  Are 
there other wheels out there that just beg for a better engine?
