Thanks to all that responded! I will start checking out your advice.

My original question was:

I have a 71 Stag with the original seats that are excellent except for one
hole. I would like to replace the one panel with the hole rather than get a
complete seat cover kit. Does anyone know where I can get some vinyl to match
the original. The color is orangy-beige (color code 43). Thanks in advance
for your help.

Here are some excerpts of what you all sent me:

"Best be is to visit an auto upholstery shop. They should be able to match
the panel and install it in a single afternoon."

"It is VERY hard to get a good match on the various tan shades that were
used, particularly for one panel. You might try vinyl mending or swapping a
piece from where it doen't show. There was considerable variance in dye lots
as well as sun fading"

"Have you tried Walter for a panel of upholstery? Also, in the Stag Owner's
club magazine, there are a number of suppliers who "break" cars, and may have
a panel that could be sold."

"You need to not only match color, but also weight and texture."

"British Motorsport in Campbell, CA has a Stag being parted out, give them a
call maybe and see if the seats are the right color, etc."

"British Victoria in Lenexa Kansas has vinyl by the yard. It doesn't specify
a color. Phone # 1-800-255-0088. Hope that helps.

"There are commercial vinyl dyes which spray on very nicely. They can be
custom mixed by quality auto paint shops. The stuff I used is called SEM
color coat. I would consider repaneling the seat, and painting both front
seats with a correctly matched dye."

"I ordered those two covers from Rimmer Bros in england. Even thou 20+ years
had expired the match is perfect. You can't tell old from new."

Thanks again for all of the help. Cheers!
