HERESY ALERT !!!

"The MG Workshop Manual" by W.E. Blower (Motor Racing Publications Ltd.,
London) has a chapter on the installation and maintenance of Shorrock
Superchargers, as well as Marshall-Nordec, Wade, and Arnott superchargers.

This is an OLD book, and I although some list members will pronounce it
useless since it doesn't cover TR's and wastes paper on the dreaded MG, it's
really a classic -- it covers all service on all MG's up through the TF. It
was out of print for years, but I think it's being reprinted now -- when I
got mine (1970) it was still in its' original run. If you can't find it, I
could Xerox the relevant parts for you.

BTW -- I don't think that there were Shorrock units for Spits -- those cars
are too new. The Shorrock was a very long unit. What was much more
prevalent in the US in the '50's and '60's was the Judson Supercharger, which
more closely fits your "shoebox" size description. The MG Workshop Manual
doesn't cover Judsons, but some American hot rod books should -- it was used
on many US cars as well as LBC's. I think that the Studebakers in the '50's
that had superchargers factory installed used Judsons.
