Anders,
 Sounds like front bearing or rear bushing since the motor seems to turn
without a load.
 Not a difficult job to replace these parts, however to do the job
correctly and be sure the starter will last, there are some specifics
that should be followed such as resistance in the field coil and the
armature windings. However, if it were me, I would preobably just
replace the bushes and brushes and give it a good cleaning and stick it
back in. Almost sounds too easy.
