Got Windscreen Off

This is a big day.  After a month of periodic yanks, oil spray and tapping 
with a hammer, the windscreen finally dislodged itself from the body of my 
TR6.  Thanks to all of you who provided advice along the way.

I'm now about to refinish the dashboard.  I plan to strip off the old 
varnish with stripper; restain if necessary and cover with a urathane.  
Any comments on high gloss or satin finish??
