Steve, You probably mean 3.07 gears. I'd recommend at least 3.31 or 3.54 if you use a five speed with around 0.8 final ratio. For example, to get the equivalent final ratio as 2.88 gears with a 0.8 five-speed you would need 2.88/0.8 = 3.60 rear end gears. With 3.07 gears and a five-speed with 0.8 final, at 70 mph your engine will be turning around 2388 rpm. If you want it geared that tall, you better use a low rpm cam. Bob |
