The pressure in that part of the system will be the same - it will just be your leg providing all the pressure instead of having the engine do part of the job for you. The pressure switch can fail both on the hydraulic side (it can develop leaks) and electrically (the switch can fail and leave you without brake lights). If you have the option you should consider changing over to a mechanical switch that is actuated by the brake pedal moving away from its rest position. Theo |
