Joey, and List.

The number of transmission teeth keep changing every time I count them.
But, the Tiger Parts List verifies the cable end as a 15 tooth version
shown as A85, Rootes Part 6100504, Ford Part C30A-17271-A, 15 tooth.
The tranny helical drive gear is B7C-17285A.

The "oil" is special speedo head instrument oil, and not 30 Wt. The
cable is lubed by grease. Regular oil, except for the support bearing
in the cable speedo attach area, should not be used. Instrument repairs
are best left to a specialist.

Some original Speedo Cables had plastic outer sheaths, which wore
quickly. The metal outer cables, covered with a plastic sheath, will
last for ever, if not allowed to have the grease dry out. Comments on
repair shops apply to the inner core replacement, as most shops do not
contain the tooling required for English cable dimensions, but do carry
Ford tooling.
