Specifically looking for the top coat most use > after re-staining. Thought we might use spar varnish or tung oil and wax. > Any thoughts? > John John, I used Mainwax spar varnish and it is holding up great...though it has been only 18 months. Theirs is a new formula that does harden as opposed to marine spar varnish. I did use about ten coats of aerosol and found it lays down well without any prickles after about the first four coats and very fine SS wool between coats. Robin Young |
