Tank cleaning, with no fancy chemicals required!
Find a running car. A VW Thing in my case. Jack the drive wheels off of the
ground. Lower the car onto jack stands.
Strap the rusty gas tank to one of the drive wheels, fill the tank about a
third of the way up with gravel. block the inlet and outlets with hose clamps
and innertube material. Start the car, put it in gear. let the clutch out and
let the tank rotate slowly with the wheel. If your worried about the car
falling off of the jack stands and going through the back of the garage, tie a
line between the coil wire and a tree.
It drives the neighbors nuts, but in about an hour the inside of the tank is
spotless.
