Ammeter

I'm working on my instruments while waiting for the endless rain from the
tropical storm battering LA & TX to go away.  3 years of drought washed away
in one week.  Anyway, my instruments look great with the new halogen bulbs.
One instrument doesn't work - it's the Lucas ammeter, of course.  Any
suggestions where I start looking for the problem?
