I don't think those ubiquitous window labels were used then, but there were the
original invoices that would include what accessories were factory installed,
and
what the dealer provided, as a part of the bills of sale.
There indeed was a "Los Angeles Rootes Final Assembly Plant", just for these
homogulation reasons, but the parts could also be obtained from the dealer after
sale, or to fit to a new car he had in stock. As long as you "could' order it
from the "Factory", that made it OK. But, it is still a bone of contention in
race sponsoring organizations today.
