                                           DaimlerChrysler To Make Super Sports
Car

                                           DETROIT (Reuters) - German-U.S.
automaker DaimlerChrysler AG said Friday it has signed
                                           an agreement with a Formula 1 racing
firm to design and make the Mercedes-Benz SLR super
                                           sports car. The automaker, in an
announcement made available in Detroit, said it and McLaren
                                           Cars Ltd. will invest about $200
million in the project. The car's debut is scheduled for the
                                           year 2003.
