Hey Stan,
When I first raced there 15 years ago, I used to run a 4.22 and 70 series
tires, but these day, I run 60 series and a 4.55 (yes, both are welded).
But, I run an 8000 rpm redline, so, your mileage may vary.
Still trying to get Red Arse ready for its Thicko race debut, but I've got a
lot to do before its ready. including building a new motor, brakes, changing
the rear hubs to doubles, fitting new belts, mounting new tires, etc. If it
isn't ready in time, I'll bring Redrum (after a cam change, and the addition
of a Speedwell aluminum radiator, and construction of a hopefully
Grattan-proof exhaust system).
I'm not doing a big Thicko party, or any live music. I'm sure we'll do some
grilling in the evenings. We are debuting a new (well, used, but new to us)
slide in camper for the dually, so we're camping at the track.
Plans for the 50th continue. We've been promised featured marque races at a
number of events.

Subject: Grattan
Thickos,
I thought I would check in with everyone to see who is planning on being
there.
Gingerman resulted in ignition problems and 15 minutes of track time. After
replacing everything in the world related to the ignition it would run 5
minutes and shut down with no spark. When I fired it up at home I reached
behind the dash and receive a major voltage. Bad connector on the BMC pulse
tach was the root cause.
I have the rear axle out and painting and cleaning up parts with softer
springs, new shocks, panhard rod, brake lines & resetting the gear lash. I
also discovered that I have a 3.72 :1 rear axle ratio. Last year that
resulted in 6500 RPM at the end of the straight at Grattan. What does
everyone else run at Grattan?
I am planning on arriving Friday morning around 9AM. I will bring some
brats boiled in beer and extra import beers and a mini keg. I am looking
forward to seeing everyone hoping to see a great Spridget turnout like last
year's Augrattan.
I am curious of plans for the 50th.
