Yeah, back in my Mac days, I bought a scanner, from the rep, on a deal, for
$1400.

I saw HP scanners for $39.

yes... and I remember paying $1000 for a 1 gig external Hammer drive  
(and I was getting a deal) and about $1400 for a 32MB memory chip.  
Course, the gas companies or picking up the slack...
