Hey Y'all,
I spoke with Phil this AM. I asked him how he's feeling. He said "like
shit!". Now for those of you that know Phil, he normally would say the word
"shit" even if he had a mouthful.
In addition to the broken leg and ankle, they determined he broke something
in his chest, and they're trying to get his neck stabilized to get him in
for an MRI and see if he has anything broken in his neck or back.
Whatever they're giving him for pain wasn't enough, as he was hurtin'.
He said he was pointed by and an additional car came with while making a
pass. Someone moved over, wheels touched, and he was launched into the
guardrail...going from about 80mph to 0 in 25'. He said the pain in his
back was immediate and excruciating. They cut him from his car to get him
on a backboard.
He'll be in the hospital for a while, and expects to catch shit from his 88
year old mother when all's said and done.
