Howard,
I may be wrong about the bushings having a metal casing inside. (I
might be confusing them with the front bushings for the rear
springs). The last set I installed did not have metal in the center
of the bushing, they were poly bushings and could be melted out if
necessary. So, melting them out just may work ;)
