To minimize the oil leaks make sure you install the updated seals for the rear 
of the engine and the front of the transmission. These put real seals in place 
of no seals that always leak.

  I wish to have someone rebuild a 1275cc and 5 speed transmission for  
my '59 bugeye.I would like it for a daily driver.If possible,I would  
like it not to leak oil.I don't have a 5 speed transmission yet.Can  
anyone suggest a good person/place for this who is reasonable in price?
