I have heard war described as when young men die to fight old men's battles.
And when it is over, we don't find who was right -- only who is left.
The last administration started two wars and instead of raising taxes to pay
for them, as has always been done before, they LOWERED taxes. Naturally,
the resulting debt and the worst recession since the Great Depression was
Obama's fault. Amazing how that works.

I always favored the idea that we let the Politicians who
start/promote/declare the wars, fight the wars.
Put them in a closed arena, supply the arms (swords, maces, halberds,
pikes -- you know, the good stuff) and see who wins and if they like it.

Yes, and let's include paying upfront for each and every war we decide to
engage in! I bet if we got hit with a tax surcharge to begin with the
politicians would have a more difficult time starting, I mean entering,
wars.
