Oh,they are still there, depending upon the age of the house. And, FYI, when
you were little, how did your Mommy and Daddy ask, when you had to go to the
bathroom? "Do you have to do Number One or Number Two?"
The basis for this is that in England, some early toilets still remain where
you toggle the handle ONE time if you have just urinated, and TWO times if you
deficated. ONE, of course, used less water, and TWO used more.
One side note. Sir Thomas Crapper did not invent the toilet, he just was the
biggest manufacturer. American soldiers in WWI were supposedly fascinated by
the name emblazoned on them: Crapper, and brought the word home with them
after the war.
