Has your wife let you think you won yet ? or is it still on going ?

A quick update on the motor shipping, I have a "rough" quote which is
more than I thought it should be but it could be their first rough
quote. I also have some great suggestions which I will follow up on, I
will let the list know what happens early next week when I get back from
Laguna Seca this weekend. Hi. 1 is calling my name...

One funny thing has come up, when I first got this car I spent years
looking for a motor, I finally decided to put in a Spridget motor as it
requires no mods to the frame, you make up some special motor mounts and
it bolts right into the Singer mount holes in the frame, you don't even
have to drill a single hole in the Singer. I was excited because I
could have a driveable car and not worry about breakage. The seller of
this Singer motor in the UK and I spoke last night (via e-mail), until
last night we only knew each via our E-bay ID's, he immediately figured
out who I was and he said it was MY website that convinced him to try
the Spridget motor, he was unhappy with the performance of the 972cc
Singer motor and hardly used his car, with the Spridget motor he uses
his car more and enjoys it so much that he decided to sell the Singer
motor for cosmetic work on his car. He is surprised I want to go back.
For me its not really going back, I don't know what they are like with
the original motor. He has finished his install and helped others do
the same in the UK and was surprised I have not finished since it was my
website that showed him how to do this. He has offered to help me with
drawings and information on the steps I have not finished and it almost
seems as if he trying to talk himself out of a sale. My wife agrees
with him I would be happier with the Spridget motor.....so maybe I wont
be buying/shipping a motor after all. I can take that cash and paint
the car, upholster it and maybe even have enough left over to do the
chrome (it was a lot of cash). I still would like a original motor but
that will just be a incentive to keep my 6cylinder Singer original.
