The best way to "make" new energy is to conserve it. If everyone switches to
higher efficiency cars it will make a difference. Also, switching the long haul
trucks to CNG will help.
Oil is still relatively cheap but can only go up in price as it get scarcer.

Oil and nuclear can be dangerous, but so can wind turbines. I've seen
videos of them coming apart while in operation. And then there is the
possibility of falling off of the, snakebite, etc.
